Swan Lake

Was absolutely amazing. The National Russian Ballet Theatre wowed me once again with their very well trained dancers. I will personally say, I thought the man who danced the roll of the court jester stole the show. Talk about talent!

As promised, I do have pictures of Daniel and I, all dressed up. It was a wonderful night, and I truly enjoyed it. I can't wait for the next ballet!

He looks so excited.

That's better. :D

After Anxiously Awaiting...

So, I must say that I am super, super, super, excited for today. I've been waiting for this day for almost a year now, ever since I heard that it would be preformed in town. Today, well tonight at 7:30, to be exact, I am going to see the National Russian Ballet Theatre preform Swan Lake. My first time attending a ballet was their performance of Sleeping Beauty two years ago, (when I was in ballet, my first recital was our school's performance of Sleeping Beauty; it only seemed fitting). Swan Lake has always been a ballet I've wanted to see, and when I found out that it would be coming to town about a year ago, I started freaking out! I was so excited, and it's finally led up to tonight. The amazing boyfriend Dan will be accompanying me (he's a keeper if he's willing to come see a ballet with me!). We have amazing seats, courtesy of my parents (they bought them for my birthday), in the orchestra lower level A, left side, row D, seats 13 & 15.
(If you can't tell, I'm excited!) I'm also excited about seeing Dan looking nice and all dressed up. You can guarantee there will be pictures taken, and possibly posted if I really like them.   Anyways, I will keep you all posted!

Day 20

day 20- someone you see yourself marrying or being with in the future

Okay, so I will admit, I have been putting off the 30 Day Challenge because of this post. Talking about my feelings with regards to my future has somewhat been an iffy topic for me, because I have no idea of what my future holds. In regards to being with someone/marrying someone in the future, I can say that it is something I definitely want to happen sometime in the future. I would love to have that someone that makes me feel complete and I could wake up to every morning. The person I see myself marrying is someone who genuinely loves me and has my best interests at heart. He listens, is open, values me, my thoughts & feelings, and our relationship, and encourages me in whatever it is I want to do in life. He makes me smile on my worst days, and can make me laugh. He is kind to the people he meets, is respectful, and has a generally cheery disposition. He makes me feel loved; he holds my hand, hugs me from behind, tells me I'm beautiful even when I'm not. He loves me for me, imperfections and all.

Now, I am not looking for some perfect and flawless Prince Charming.

       Yeah. NOT this guy.

I would feel pretty crummy if I was with someone who was absolutely perfect, because I know I am not perfect and being with someone who was would pretty much suck, in my opinion. I am just looking for someone who respects and loves me, and I think everything else will come naturally. Now, I haven't mentioned any specific person, but I do have this wonderful boyfriend, Daniel, who does listen, is open, values me & our relationship, encourages me, makes me laugh, and loves me. Is he the one I am to marry? I don't know, & getting married is not something on my plate in the immediate future; I have an education to get first. But I do know that someone I see myself marrying in the future has the ability to love me for all of me.

This is what I want. <3

Days 18-19

day 18- plans/dreams/goals you have

Plans...dreams...goals....Everyone knows I'm pretty big on science/engineering, and my future will have a lot to do with that. As far as my future goes, it will ideally work out as me getting through this physics class I am taking now, then attending and graduating from the Florida Institute of Technology as a mechanical engineer. After that, I would like to get a job involved with space sciences/space program, or something equally as cool and exciting. I want to apply for the astronaut program, and will keep at that until I am accepted, and from there, I want to go into space and eventually get to Mars. In my future, I also want to get married,  and have an impressive garden at my home, wherever that may be. This is my ideal future.

day 19- nicknames you have and why you have them

Chels/Chel-chel/Chey- short for Chelsea
Gooby Goober/Gooby/Goober- this is from my Soul Sister, Aya, from Escaping Reality (check out her blog, it's amazing!),  and she had a dream that involved me and this expression being said. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in that dream, but I love the nickname.
Bellatrix/Bella- One of the 3 main stars in the constellation Orion, I can't really explain why I have this nickname, other than the fact that I am loved by Betelgeuse.
Sissy- I am a sister, both biologically and mentally.
Pi Girl- Refers to a permanent attachment to my hip.
BestFrannnnd- My friend Kellie, from On the Brink of Something Beautiful, calls me this one. I think it started with our mutual love for Mr. Darcy.
Montague- I don't really remember how this nickname came up, but it's from my fried Tay at Rants, Raves, and Rad Reviews. I call her Capulet, and I think this came from a very dramatic texting conversation we had one day in Shakespearean-esque language.
Chelsanator- A humorous attempt to give me a nickname, but I kinda like it. Makes me feel like I should kick some cyborg butt and go all Terminator from future beings that want to kill me.
Chella Bella- probably my favorite, (it's right up there with Gooby Goober). A good attempt at a nickname, I think it's cute and I love it. It's origins can't really be explained, it was just given to me by somebody special.

My Valentine's Day.

My Valentine's Day was absolutely amazing. Since Dan and I are both pretty busy on Mondays, with school and work, we celebrated it on Sunday. It started off with me wearing a dress, (which does not often happen!), & gift exchanges; I was given pink roses, (the time I've received them other than from a dance recital), chocolates, a triceratops to cuddle with (triceratops is my favorite dinosaur), and a nutella, EXTRA crunchy peanut butter, (he knows me too well), and banana sandwich. We then drove to the mall and went shopping, and went to see The Mechanic. It was a pretty good movie, for those like me who are more into the action-y sorts of films, and went to Carraba's to eat. Afterwards, it was nightfall, and Dan and I went to the beach, wrapped in a Bugs Bunny comforter, and we looked at the stars. It was the perfect day.
This is Skylar!
