Loving: My new clutch! I got at Fort Jackson, SC, while visiting my brother. Isn't it cute?

Reading: Other than textbooks, I've been reading a Storm of Swords. Every chapter I read, I am more and more convinced that George R.R. Martin is the greatest author. I'm also reading my new favorite blog, Girl Gone Geek! Jamila is a fantastic blogger.

Listening to: I have just discovered Spotify, so I've been listening to a lot of music lately! Regina Spektor, Breaking Benjamin, and Maroon 5 have been my top listens.

Anticipating: Halloween! I have no idea what I am going to do to celebrate my favorite holiday, but I love that October is finally here!

Thinking about: The tons of studying and homework I am doing & have to do, and how perfect today's weather is.

Watching: I haven't been watching much lately, but I have gotten into the new Sherlock Holmes spinoff "Elementary"! It's so good, and Sherlock is quite the hottie.

Working on: Materials science homework!

Wishing: That I had more time to blog. At least I'm blogging some, though, and I am very happy about that.

Now off to do some more work! What have my followers been up to lately?

These are all pictures I took when visiting my brother in Columbia, South Carolina. Enjoy!

Random Picture Post

Can anyone guess what this beauty is?

If you guessed an Eagle Lunar Module pencil sharpener, you're correct! (And probably as space obsessed as I am.) I found this lovely little guy in an Army Navy store in Columbia, South Carolina. As a space geek, the moment I found it, I had to have it! This is one of the greatest little discoveries I have stumbled across! Ever find any quirky finds like this?

Fill in the blank Friday

1.  Something I am very proud of is  how hard I work. I  have gotten where I am today through hard work.

2.  My favorite thing about myself is my ability to tough things out. I am definitely a fighter.

3.  My favorite color for fall is gray! Though I always am I fan of the colors gray and black.

4. Something I've been learning lately is engineering school is really rough!

5. A book I am reading now/have read recently is "Storm of Swords" by George RR Martin. The Song of Fire and Ice is the BEST book series I have ever read! This book is particularly amazing, as well!

6. My favorite Pandora Station is I'm not sure, I don't listen to Pandora! I love the Maroon 5 station on Spotify though.

7.  This weekend I will study my butt off for my dynamics and thermodynamics exams on Monday!

STEM links of the week

Seeing my brother again!

My brother Dakota graduated from Army basic training today! My family and I have been able to spend yesterday and today with him, and it has truly been wonderful. His basic training was at Fort Jackson, South Carolina; he leaves for Air Traffic Control school at Fort Rucker, Alabama tomorrow. I've really missed Dakota, and it's been great being with my "twin" again. Below are some pictures I took while we were together.

My chat with Girlpreneurs!

In case you missed my chat with Girlpreneurs, you can still read a transcript of the interview! You can check out the interview here: Think Tank Thursday Chats. It was a lot of fun and I was really honored to be featured on Girlpreneur's Think Tank Thursday Chats during their Women in STEM series.

Tell me what you think about the interview in the comments!

And so, the semester has begun!

Even though I'm not far into fall semester here at UNF, and I'm already having to deal with late nights and tons of homework. (Welcome to the life of an engineering student!) I would say the semester has started off rather well, though.

I'm taking several classes this semester. The most difficult seem to be my dynamics class, which is actually one of my favorites when it comes to general course content. All of my classes have an awesome aspect about them that I enjoy, so the heavy course load isn't so bad.
My life
I've also been doing a lot with our school's student chapter of ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), since I am currently acting as president. Our first meeting is this Thursday, and I'm hoping to elect a new president, so I can return to my duty as VP.

I'm thinking about joining a zumba class on campus once a week so I can relax and exercise, but I'm kinda nervous about it! I've never "zumba-ed" before. Do any of my readers know anything about it & can tell me what it is I'd be getting into?

So that is my life as of late! I am looking forward to my twitter chat with girlpreneurs on September 13, you should all join me for that! I'm not sure what hashtag you have to use for it, but you can follow me on twitter here. And if you haven't seen my interview with STEMinist, you can see my post about it here

My interview with STEMinist!

Yesterday, my interview with STEMinist published! It was an honor to be interviewed by them. STEMinist's goals include promoting the perspective of women in the STEM field, encouraging young women to go into these fields, increase the visibility of women in STEM, and so much more. My interview with them can be found here. You can check out the STEMinist homepage here (I'm there as well!) , or find them on twitter, facebook, or google plus.
Tell me what you think about the interview!

Also, on September 13, I'm hosting a twitter chat with Girlpreneurs! You should definitely check it out and join in!
