Happy birthday to the International Space Station!
Today, November 2, is the twelfth birthday of the International Space Station! Today marks the day of the 12th anniversary of the date that humans have occupied the ISS, and there has always been someone occupying the space station since that date.
The International Space Station is essentially a giant research lab the size of a football field that orbits the Earth every 92 minutes. 15 countries have been a part of the construction of the ISS, and astronauts from all over the world, representing many countries, have occupied it.
The ISS conducts many scientific experiments for the sake of research. It conducts research in areas such as astrobiology, astronomy, space medicine, life sciences, materials science, and many more. Students can even send experiments to the space station!
